Jouji Miwa was born in Tottori, Japan.
He received the B. E. degree from
the University of Electro-Communications, Tokyo, Japan and
the M. E. and the Ph. D. degrees from Tohoku University, Sendai, Japan
in 1974, 1976 and 1979, respectively.
From 1979 to 1982 he was a research associate
in the Research Center for Applied Information Sciences, Tohoku University.
In Sep., 2001, he was a visiting scholar at San Jose State University, San Jose, CA, USA.
He is now an associate professor at Iwate University, Faculty of Engineering,
Morioka, Japan.
He has been engaged in study on spoken language processing,
multimedia signal processing and information technology.
He is a member of the Acustical Society of Japan,
the Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers,
the Information Processing Society of Japan,
the Association of Teachers of Japanese
and so on.
